Slow Cooker French Onion Soup

Mmmmm!  I love french onion soup!  It is perfect for a cool fall day.  Add in the fact that this is a crock pot recipe and it is all the better!

Slow Cooker French Onion Soup

You will need:
3 large onions, sliced
3 tbsp. butter, melted
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 cans low sodium beef broth

Directions:
Mix sliced onions and melted butter in the slow cooker.  Cook on high heat for about an hour, until the onions are slightly brown.

Mix flour, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and pepper.  Stir this mixture and the broth into the onions.  Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or until onions are very tender.

To make the cheesy broiled french bread:  slice the french bread and top each with a slice of Swiss cheese.  Place on a baking sheet and broil in the oven until the cheese is brown and melted.

ENJOY!
